June marks the beginning of that summer we wait for all year long. The days become longer, the atmosphere starts to feel more lively, and Benicasim recovers that Mediterranean energy that invites you to go out, walk around and enjoy family time. Best of all, you can still enjoy the destination in a more relaxed way than during the peak summer season.
If you are thinking about a family getaway, Benicasim offers plans for everyone: children’s activities, sports events, cultural experiences and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed with both young children and teenagers.
Activities for younger children
One of the most recommended family plans during June is “Juguem a la placeta”, a free activity taking place on June 5th at Plaza Europa, very close to Hotel Bersoca.
During the afternoon, the park fills with workshops, games and children’s activities designed for little ones to play, learn and enjoy the outdoors. It is a simple, family-friendly and very summery plan to spend a different afternoon without going too far from the hotel.
Plans for teenagers and young adults
If you are travelling with teenage children, June also brings activities specially designed for them thanks to the programmes organised by the Casal Jove of Benicasim.
On the one hand, the BeniJove programme for under-18s includes more dynamic and social activities. Highlights include the creative recycling eco-workshop on June 6th and beach sports games on June 13th.
For young adults over 18, there are also activities focused on wellbeing and creative leisure. During June, they can enjoy an urban escape room on June 6th, a healthy cooking workshop on June 13th or a beach yoga and relaxation session on June 27th.
An active summer by the sea
Benicasim is also a perfect destination for active families. During June, the pleasant weather allows visitors to fully enjoy the seafront promenade, the beaches and many outdoor sports activities.
One of the most special events is the Benicasim Night 10K race, taking place on June 13th. The route runs along the beach and through the town streets, offering a different way to discover Benicasim. It is a highly recommended experience for sporty families.
If you are looking for something more relaxing, on Sunday 21st the Sol Invictus event offers a small seaside route followed by an introductory yoga session to celebrate the summer solstice. It is mainly designed for adults, although it can also be a lovely experience for families with older children.
Culture and art to discover another side of Benicasim
June is also a great time to discover the cultural side of the town.
Until June 21st, the Centre Cultural Melchor Zapata hosts the exhibition “Kiss” by artist Marina Bobo. This contemporary artistic proposal reflects on emotions, violence and human relationships. It is especially recommended for adults interested in art and photography.
Another interesting cultural activity is the theatrical guided tour “Martha and Ernest, a Romance in Times of War”. On June 7th, visitors will have the opportunity to discover a lesser-known part of Benicasim’s history and learn about the town’s connection with historical figures during the Spanish Civil War.
A June to enjoy with your family
The first days of summer in Benicasim have something truly special. You can spend the morning at the beach, the afternoon enjoying a family activity and end the day with a peaceful walk by the sea.
At Hotel Bersoca, we want to help you discover that calm, family-friendly and Mediterranean summer atmosphere that makes so many families come back year after year.
