Destination information

The Greenway Route (Vía Verde) is a coastal route that runs along a natural and rugged stretch of the coast, connecting the tourist towns of Benicàssim and Oropesa. Conditioned by the Ministry as part of the greenways network, it is perfect for both cycling and walking.

With a round trip of 11 km (5.5 km in each direction), the route can be completed in about 1 h 30’ with stops to enjoy the viewpoints, rest areas and beautiful sea cliffs. Its attractions include an initial tunnel, the first Watchtower (Torre Vigía), historical trenches, a long 600m tunnel and, at the end, the port and nautical club of Oropesa, next to the promenade with playgrounds, bars and a beach.

Access is easy from Benicàssim via Avenida Jaume I, with parking near the Hotel Palasiet, an ideal starting point to begin this natural and cultural experience.

With this fantastic route, you will discover sea cliffs and viewpoints and, at the end of the route, you can contemplate the first buildings of Oropesa, being able to go down to the promenade full of bars right by the beach. The route also includes the beaches of Bellver and La Renegà, which have nudist areas and areas adapted for dogs.
